Black Bears Do In Pizza Rats, 3-1

Both offenses were relatively subdued at Dutchess Stadium. Fortunately for the West Virginia Black Bears, though, Chase Bennett was able to deliver in the clutch. He went 2 for 4 with a home run and a double. He drove in 2 runs and scored once, to lead his team past the Staten Island Pizza Rats, 3-1. The Black Bears improved their record to 16-15 by beating Staten Island.
Early in the game, Bennett had a 2-run home run for West Virginia. It was his 3rd home run of the season and put the Black Bears on top, 2-0.
"I'm trying to keep it simple," said Bennett. "Just do my job."
