Fans were not deterred by the threat of rain. They came to see their hometown Youngstown Gremlins take on the Niagara Falls Rapids.

The Niagara Falls Rapids handed the Youngstown Gremlins a sound defeat, 17-3, at Eastwood Field. George Waters was a main contributor to the win. He went 4-5 with 2 home runs, 2 singles, and a walk. He drove in 7 runs and scored twice for Niagara Falls. The Rapids saw their win-loss record go to 15-15. At the same time, the Gremlins fell to 11-19.

Niagara Falls used the hitting of M.J. Thornton to pick up the win. The catcher clubbed a 2-run home run in the top of the sixth inning to put the Rapids on top, 6-3. For the game, Thornton had 1 home run and 1 single in 3 at-bats.

"The boys came out and just played their butts off," said Niagara Falls manager Josh Reeder.
