The Staten Island Pizza Rats handed the Connecticut Tigers a loss at Richmond County Bank Ballpark. The final score was 9-4. Kevin Benson made the highlight reel for Staten Island. In addition to his 1 single and 2 home runs, he scored 3 runs and drove in 4. He also added 2 bases on balls. Dean De La Garza snagged the win in relief. The left-hander allowed no runs on no hits over 2 innings. He's now 2-1 on the season. Dexter Paparazzo, summoned from the bullpen, notched his 2nd save.

In the bottom of the sixth, the Pizza Rats grabbed the lead when Benson hit his 7th home run of the season. The 3-run home run off Eric Tolliver made it 7-4, Staten Island.

"There's ebbs and flows in the season and right now we're just looking to finish strong," said Benson.

The Pizza Rats saw their record improve to 19-11.
