Win Makes Connecticut 15-12
|
Behind a fine performance from Oscar Soto, the Connecticut Tigers knocked off the Staten Island Pizza Rats, 7-4. Soto was 2-3 with a home run and 2 walks. He drove in 3 runs and scored once for the Tigers. Jammer Dougherty recorded the save, his 8th. The win elevated the Tigers to 15-12.
Soto had a game-changing home run in the bottom of the seventh. On a 1-1 fastball from Dean De La Garza, he banged a 2-run home run to left, giving the Tigers a 5-4 lead. It was the 5th home run of the year for Soto.
"We're trying to go out there and win games," Soto told the Connecticut Today, "and we played pretty well tonight."
