Baseball fans saw a good contest between the Brooklyn Cyclones and West Virginia Black Bears.

Riding the 2-hit performance of the 22-year old shortstop Mike Gilbert, the Brooklyn Cyclones defeated the West Virginia Black Bears, 4-2. Normando García was the winner. He's now 1-0. The loser was Jack Andrews. Yacinto Vargas collected save number 2.

Diego Mojica had a direct impact on the outcome. Mojica contributed a run-scoring single in the top of the fifth inning to put Brooklyn up, 4-2.

Said losing manager Jesus Sánchez: "Give the Cyclones credit. They played a better game than we did."

Brooklyn is 13-16 and West Virginia, with the loss, 17-12.
