Jammers Notch 6-1 Win Versus Doubledays
|
The Auburn Doubledays had their hands full with Jamestown Jammers starter Jhosua Valerio, who frustrated Auburn hitters while leading Jamestown to a comfortable, 6-1 win. Jamestown is now 14-9, while Auburn is 6-17.
Jamestown used a well-timed hit by Oscar De La Cruz to capture the win. The first baseman socked a 2-run double in the top of the first inning to put the Jammers ahead, 3-0. Though it was his only hit in 4 at-bats, it was important.
"We put our best foot forward tonight," said a smiling De La Cruz.
