The State College Spikes scooped up a win at Edward A. LeLacheur Park, dumping the Lowell Spinners, 2-0. Kieran Velez was essential to his team's success. State College is now 14-11.

State College won the game in part because of Elliott Joseph. The third baseman ripped a solo home run in the top of the sixth inning to put the Spikes ahead, 2-0. For the game, Joseph had 1 double and 1 home run in 4 at-bats.

"That's how you're going to be successful," said Spikes manager Bobby Spencer. "It starts with pitching and it will always be pitching."
