Ironbirds Slip Past Connecticut, 5-4
|
The Aberdeen Ironbirds did just enough to sneak past the Connecticut Tigers, 5-4, at Ripken Stadium. Aberdeen designated hitter Landen Lee, in particular, had a standout performance. Connecticut, now 2-11, continues its dreadful start.
The Ironbirds were down to their final out when pinch hitter Taylor Mullan turned a full count fastball from Carter Kristalstern into a 2-run single. The walk-off single made the Ripken Stadium crowd go wild.
"What a buzz," said Lee after it was over.
