The West Virginia Black Bears defeated the Auburn Doubledays, 8-6. Doing his part was left fielder Cooper Hamlin, who went 3-4 with a home run, a double, and a walk. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. Solomon Cucchi earned the win, while 22-year old left-handed pitcher Catfish Crest took the loss for Auburn. Damion Dodds locked down his 4th save.

Early in the game, Hamlin had a 2-run home run for West Virginia. It was his 3rd home run of the season and put the Black Bears on top, 2-0.

"Cooper raked," said West Virginia manager Jesus Sánchez.

West Virginia now owns a record of 16-9.
