Red Wings Capture 3-2 Win at Joseph L. Bruno Stadium
|
Starting pitcher R.J. Krage gave the Hamilton Red Wings a rock-solid effort. The San Antonio, Texas native helped his team defeat the Tri-City ValleyCats, 3-2, at Joseph L. Bruno Stadium. Krage, the winner, moves to 2-2. He threw 6 innings of 3-hit ball, while fanning 2 and giving up 1 walk. Israel Heinrichs recorded the save for Hamilton, his 3rd of the season.
Hamilton used a clutch at-bat from Gage Valentine to capture the win. The first baseman hammered a 2-run home run in the top of the sixth inning to put the Red Wings ahead, 3-1. It was his lone hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a humdinger.
"I was able to miss barrels for the most part and the guys behind me made plays," said Krage.
The 8th-place Red Wings own a record of 5-16.
