Youngstown Stopped, 4-1, by Niagara Falls
|
Starting Pitcher Dan Tredo was lights out, as the Niagara Falls Rapids beat the Youngstown Gremlins, 4-1. The winner was Tredo. He threw 7.0 innings of shutout ball. The loser was Isiah Martin. Mark Soriano notched his 3rd save of the season.
Niagara Falls used the hitting of Bernard Lawson to pick up the win. The center fielder clubbed a solo home run in the top of the fifth inning to put the Rapids on top, 2-0. For the game, Lawson had 1 home run and 2 singles in 5 at-bats.
"We were the better team today. Maybe that won't be the case next game, but we'll enjoy it for now," Tredo told the Niagara Falls Herald.
The Rapids are now 16-4.
