The Connecticut Tigers could not turn a fine performance from pitcher Pedro Sarasa into a win. Instead, the Vermont Lake Monsters prevailed, 6-3. Sarasa threw 5.2 innings of 4-hit ball. Jason McCree picked up his 1st save of the season. The win for the Lake Monsters lifted their record to 15-6.
Vermont used the timely hitting of Chris Lewis to seize the win. The first baseman stroked a 2-run single in the top of the ninth inning to put the Lake Monsters on top, 5-3. It was his only hit in 3 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"Winning is contagious," said Lewis. "We're looking forward to the next game."
