Oilers Drop Black Bears, 10-6, with Late Score
|
Oilers shortstop Van Wease left his imprint on his team's 10-6 win over the West Virginia Black Bears. Wease went 1-4 with a home run and a walk. He scored 2 runs and drove in 3 for Oil City in the contest. Graham Leonard picked up the win in relief. Ryder Heston took the loss for West Virginia. The 8th-place Oilers own a record of 7-15.
The game was all tied up in the top of the ninth, until Wease delivered big-time for Oil City, stroking a dramatic 3-run home run off Ryder Heston. The game-changing hit put the Oilers on top, 9-6.
"Nice to see our side come away with the win," Wease said after the game.
