Black Bears Go Down to Defeat, 3-0
|
Elvys Armendariz was a vital contributor to the 3-0 Aberdeen victory over West Virginia. The Ironbirds center fielder was 2-2 with a home run. The 5th-place Ironbirds are now 9-10, the Black Bears 12-7.
Aberdeen used the timely hitting of Benjamin Sullivan to capture the win. The left fielder stroked a 2-run double in the top of the eighth inning to put the Ironbirds on top, 3-0. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but he made it count.
Aberdeen manager Alden Fuentes attributed the win to "a little bit of this and a little bit of that."
