Black Bears Triumph, 6-3, in 14 Innings
|
The West Virginia Black Bears withstood a good performance by Hamilton first baseman Florian Bartlett to knock off Hamilton, 6-3, in 14 innings. Bartlett was 4 for 7 with a double and 3 singles. The win for the Black Bears raised their record to 12-6.
Fabian Aquino delivered a big hit for West Virginia. The third baseman drilled a 3-run home run in the top of the 14th inning to put the Black Bears ahead, 6-3. It was his only hit, but it was a beauty.
Said West Virginia manager Jesus Sánchez: "We squared some balls up."
