Doubledays Bag 4-1 Win
|
The Auburn Doubledays got a stellar effort from pitcher Ethan Carson, helping Auburn score a win over the visiting Staten Island Pizza Rats, 4-1. Jack Richards closed it out for his 1st save. The win puts Auburn at 9-8 this season.
Darren Cheek had a big 2-run home run for the Doubledays in the bottom of the sixth inning. With Auburn leading 1-0 and a runner on 1st, he got a fastball from Ace Goodson and swatted a home run to right. It was his 5th home run of the season, and more importantly, it put the Doubledays ahead, 3-0.
"For the most part, I felt like I did a pretty good job with executing the pitches I was throwing," said Carson.
