Spikes Endure 12-1 Beatdown
The Aberdeen Ironbirds buried the State College Spikes, 12-1, under a barrage of hits. Ron Marcum led the onslaught, going 3-for-4 for Aberdeen. Marcos Estevez picked up the win in relief, improving his record to 1-0. Melvin Concepcion was tagged with the loss. Aberdeen's record now stands at 7-8, placing them 5th in the New York-Penn League South Division.

With Aberdeen trailing 1-0 in the bottom of the first, Marcum hit a fastball from Melvin Concepcion for a 2-run home run. It was his 3rd home run of the season and put the Ironbirds ahead, 2-1.

State College manager Bobby Spencer summed up his team's performance in one word: "Putrid."
