Lake Monsters Pop Cavalry, 11-4
|
The Vermont Lake Monsters topped the New Westminster Cavalry by the score of 11-4, with the largest share of the credit going to first baseman Jacob Leonard. Leonard went 2-4 with 2 singles, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once for the Lake Monsters. The loss drops the Cavalry to 3-5.
Isaiah Yorks, the 22-year old catcher , had a direct impact on the outcome. Yorks contributed a run-scoring sacrifice fly in the top of the fifth inning to put Vermont up, 2-1.
"We maximized our offense today," said Vermont skipper Mike Wilkins. "That makes everyone's life easier."
