Powered by Thad Larose, the Tri-City ValleyCats downed the Batavia Muckdogs, 5-2. Larose went 4-4 with a home run and 3 doubles, while scoring 2 and driving in 3 for the ValleyCats. Tri-City reliever Wanderley Escalante picked up the win, while Sheldon Johnson took the loss for Batavia. The Muckdogs, 4-6, continue their sluggish start to the 2060 campaign.

With Tri-City trailing 2-1 in the bottom of the second, Larose hit a cutter from Sheldon Johnson for a 2-run double. It was his 3rd double of the season and put the ValleyCats ahead, 3-2.

"The chili dogs will taste better tonight after this win," said the ever-candid Larose.
