Montero Stars in 8-4 Lake Monsters Win
Behind a fine performance from Ghordy Montero, the Vermont Lake Monsters knocked off the Aberdeen Ironbirds, 8-4. Montero went 4 for 5 with a home run and 3 singles. He scored 2 times and drove in 4 for the Lake Monsters. Heriberto De León picked up the win, improving his season record to 2-0. He struck out 6 in 5 innings. The victory makes Vermont 7-3, as the team seeks a return to the playoffs in 2061.

With Vermont leading 1-0 in the bottom of the second, Montero hit a run-scoring single off Aberdeen hurler Steve Routh. It was the 11th hit of the season for Montero and put his team ahead, 2-0.

"I was just going up there trying to see good pitches, that was about it," said Montero.
