Rapids Win Nail-Biter, 5-4
|
The home crowd was treated to a thrilling, walk-off win.
The Niagara Falls Rapids did just enough to secure a victory over the Brooklyn Cyclones, 5-4, in 14 innings at Nat Bailey Stadium. Nobody did more than first baseman Seth Morvant. Brooklyn, with the loss, is 4-10.
The Rapids got a clutch hit from right fielder Bernard Lawson. In the bottom of the 14th, he delivered a run-scoring single to win the game for the Rapids.
"It's great when the crowd goes berserk," Lawson said.
