Tigers Get Win, Hope to Turn Around Slow Start
|
The Connecticut Tigers beat the Niagara Falls Rapids, 9-3, at Nat Bailey Stadium. Cody Gross, in particular, was impressive. He was 4-4 with a double, 3 singles, and a walk. R.L. Unsworth was the winner. Over 6.1 innings, he yielded 3 runs on 9 hits, with no walks and 4 strikeouts. Connecticut, now 5-8, is off to a slow start.
Joshua Ewing chipped in a 3-run home run for Connecticut in the top of the third. For the game, the second baseman had 2 hits in 5 at-bats with 1 home run, 1 single, 1 run scored, and 3 runs batted in.
"You can't get too high when things go well, or too low when things go bad. Right now, I'm just happy we got the win," Ewing told the Connecticut Herald.
