Loss to Pizza Rats Extends Auburn Losing Streak
The Staten Island Pizza Rats had no problem beating the Auburn Doubledays, 11-0, at Richmond County Bank Ballpark. Roosy Dempsey led the way. He went 3 for 5 with a home run and 2 singles, while scoring 2 runs for Staten Island. C.J. Gipe came out of the bullpen to earn the win. The right-hander allowed no runs on 2 hits in 1.2 innings. His record now stands at 1-0. To call the performance of the 2058 Doubledays subpar is an understatement.

Kevin Kaminsky had a big run-scoring triple for the Pizza Rats in the bottom of the fifth inning. With Staten Island leading 1-0 and a runner on 1st, he got a fastball from 19-year old right-handed pitcher John Howell and swatted a triple to left-center. It was his 3rd triple of the season, and more importantly, it put the Pizza Rats ahead, 2-0.

Auburn manager Carlos Renteria called the blowout loss "just something that happens from time to time."
