Spikes Take Tight Tilt
In a low-scoring affair between the State College Spikes and the Youngstown Gremlins, pitcher Gino Barrera was the difference between victory and defeat. The State College right-hander earned kudos in the 2-1 Spikes win. Barrera yielded 1 run over 6 innings to notch the win. He scattered 5 hits, walked 0, and struck out 5. His record improves to 1-0. The victory makes State College 4-2.

Jeremiah Farrington drove in one run for State College. The 24-year old left fielder had a key at-bat in the bottom of the fourth. With one out and the bases loaded, he broke a 1-1 tie with a run-scoring ground out off Dedrick McAdoo. It was his 1st RBI of the season.

"Wins don't come easy," Barrera told the State College Daily News. "They don't just hand them out like lollipops."
