4-0 Win Makes It 6 Straight for Pizza Rats
|
The Staten Island Pizza Rats and Tri-City ValleyCats squared off at Joseph L. Bruno Stadium.
Collin Lyons, who was drafted in the 3rd round of the 2060 draft, imposed his will on the ValleyCats from the get-go. Relying mainly on his changeup, the right-hander spearheaded the 4-0 Staten Island triumph. Tri-City is 2-7 after the loss.
Who knows how it might've ended, had it not been for Elijah Williams? The Staten Island shortstop had a 2-run double in the top of the fifth inning to put the Pizza Rats on top, 4-0. For the game, Williams had 1 double and 1 single in 4 at-bats.
"There's a lot of good karma around our club," said winning manager Max Collison.
