Muckdogs Outmuscle Salem-Keizer, 12-9
|
In a high-scoring game between Batavia and Salem-Keizer, catcher Heath Twaddell was a difference-maker. The 22-year-old helped Batavia grab the 12-9 win. He went 2 for 5 with a home run, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 4. Matt Thompson earned save number 1 this season. The win gives Batavia a record of 2-0.
The Muckdogs got a big at-bat from third baseman Zachary Edris. For the game, Edris went 1 for 4 with a double and a walk. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. In the bottom of the first, with the bases loaded, he stroked a bases-clearing double. His 1st double of the season gave Batavia a 3-0 lead.
"This team is on a mission," said Edris, who is one of the clubhouse leaders. "I like our focus."
