West Virginia Stopped, 3-1, by Batavia
|
Harumi Amaki could take little solace in pitching a good game. The fact is his West Virginia Black Bears lost, dropping a 3-1 decision to the Batavia Muckdogs at Dutchess Stadium. Batavia reliever Matt Pflanz got the win, raising his record to 1-0. Harumi Amaki was tagged with the loss. Peyton Thomas earned the save for Batavia, his 2nd of the year.
Buck Conlon, who was drafted in the 3rd round of the 2060 draft, had a direct impact on the outcome. Conlon contributed a solo home run in the top of the sixth inning to put Batavia up, 3-1.
Conlon attributed the win to "everyone pulling their weight."
The win leaves Batavia with a record of 2-2.
