Hammond Stadium was the site for California League action featuring the San Bernardino Stampede and Rancho Cucamonga Rattlers.

Rancho Cucamonga beat San Bernardino on the strength of starting pitcher Will Rowland's fine effort. The right-hander led his team to a win, 5-2. Picking up the save was 23-year old right-handed pitcher Gray Foster.

With two out in the bottom of the fifth, Maddox Chambers put Rancho Cucamonga in front, 2-0, with a run-scoring single. The Rattlers went on to win the ballgame.

Chambers told a Rancho Cucamonga Times reporter that the win made him feel "upbeat about our team."

San Bernardino drops to 3-4.
