The Lynchburg Hillcats defeated the Winston-Salem Dash, 4-2, in East Coast League action at BB&T Ballpark. Lynchburg pitcher Steve Becker had a standout performance. With the win, Lynchburg raised its record to 48-46.

The Dash had trouble solving Becker, who surrendered no runs on 5 hits over 7 innings.

"Good pitching stops good hitting," said Becker. "And vice-versa."
