Pit Spitters Snag 6-4 Win
|
The Traverse City Pit Spitters beat the Dunedin Blue Jays, 6-4, at Florida Auto Exchange Stadium. The win was due in part to catcher Michael Beatty, who was 4-5 with a double and 3 singles, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. Jacob Kranz, credited with the win, is now 3-1. He allowed no runs on no hits. Nate Godfrey collected his 11th save.
The game was all tied up in the top of the ninth, until Beatty delivered big-time for Traverse City, stroking a dramatic 2-run single off Newt Miller. The game-changing hit put the Pit Spitters on top, 6-4.
"Winning is the only objective," said Beatty after the game.
With the win, Traverse City goes to 44-49, while the Blue Jays fall to 49-44.
