|
Bartholomew Douglas was the difference-maker for the Frederick Keys in what turned into a shootout with the Tampa Tarpons. Douglas, who is tied for 8th in the ECL with a .399 on-base percentage, went 2-for-4 in the 10-9 Keys win. Landry Gilbert, now 2-2, was credited with the win in 1 innings of relief. He allowed 1 run on 2 hits, while striking out 1 and walking 0. Miles Farnum recorded the save. In save chances, he's now 22 for 24.
In the bottom of the eighth, the Keys grabbed the lead when Douglas hit his 13th home run of the season. The 2-run home run off Ayden Shorter made it 10-9, Frederick.
"Crazy game," said Douglas after it ended.
Frederick is now 44-48, while Tampa is 40-52.
