Tampa Wins, 3-2, Over Marauders

The Bradenton Marauders could not turn a fine performance from pitcher Elijah Hayes into a win. Instead, the Tampa Tarpons prevailed, 3-2. Hayes threw 6.0 innings of 3-hit ball. Tampa reliever Owen Howe got the win, raising his record to 1-0. Ben Moratay was tagged with the loss. The victory gives Tampa a record of 49-41.
Edward Carrillo came through with a big-time hit for Tampa. The third baseman smacked a 2-run home run in the top of the eighth inning to give his team the lead, 3-2. It was his only hit, but it was clutch.
"We played a good game and came out on top," said Carrillo.
