Nowlin Goes Off, But Mets Win
|
The St. Lucie Mets outlasted Evan Nowlin and the Winston-Salem Dash, 11-9. Nowlin was impressive in the loss. The Winston-Salem right fielder went 3 for 5 with a home run and 2 singles. He scored 2 times and drove in 5. Dom Bussom got credit for the save for St. Lucie. It was his 3rd of the year. The Mets raised their record to 41-49.
In the bottom of the second, 22-year old second baseman Tony Woodrick hit a grand slam home run. The 10th home run of the season for the St. Lucie second baseman put the Mets on top, 7-3.
"Another day, another win. On to the next one," Woodrick told the St. Lucie Chronicle.
