Mariners Collect 4-3 Win Versus Traverse City
The Virginia Beach Mariners picked up a win at Sun Sox Ballpark, topping the Traverse City Pit Spitters, 4-3. On the mound for Virginia Beach was right-hander Oscar Thomas. He played a principal role in the triumph. Caleb Sizemore, summoned from the bullpen, notched his 28th save. The Mariners have an impressive 57-32 record.

Virginia Beach used a clutch at-bat from Cody Yu to capture the win. The center fielder hammered a 2-run home run in the top of the fifth inning to put the Mariners ahead, 2-1. It was his lone hit in 5 at-bats, but it was a humdinger.

"Oscar was throwing strikes, locating well," said Virginia Beach manager Jamie Harper.
