Oxford Nets 4-3 Win Versus Mudcats
|
Postiga Sánchez, who is rated as the 45th best prospect by BNN, had a strong outing for the Oxford Owls against the Carolina Mudcats at Ballpark of Oxford. The right-hander was a big part of his team's 4-3 win. The Owls sport a record of 56-27.
Luke Gardner had a big 2-run double for the Owls in the bottom of the fourth inning. With Oxford leading 1-0 and the bases loaded, he got a changeup from Charles Ortiz, who is tied for 4th in the ECL with a 8.4 K/9 rate, and swatted a double to center. It was his 12th double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Owls ahead, 3-0.
After the game, Oxford manager Jacob Tyrrell applauded the team's effort. "They busted their tails out there," he said.
