Due in large part to first baseman Seth McGinnis, the Virginia Beach Mariners sunk the Jupiter Hammerheads, 1-0. McGinnis was 2-3 with a double and a walk. The win was credited to 21-year old right-handed pitcher Aaron Martin in relief. His record improves to 5-6. Eli Stewart took the loss. The Mariners bumped their record to 44-38 with this latest triumph.

With scoring opportunities rare, the Mariners had to cash in when they had the chance. One such opportunity presented itself in the bottom of the second, when center fielder Jimmy Gerfin hit a run-scoring single. The single came off Eli Stewart and made the score 1-0, Mariners. Gerfin was 1-3.

Said losing manager Emerson Olalde: "We've got to find a way to push a run across."
