The Winston-Salem Dash beat the Hudson Valley Renegades, 7-6, at George M. Steinbrenner Field. Winston-Salem designated hitter Carlyle Mara had an outstanding performance. He was 3-5 with 3 singles and a walk. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. The winner was Tostig Thomas in relief. His record improves to 6-4. Eric Stodola took the loss. Rhys Roby finished the game for Winston-Salem and earned his 2nd save.
The game was all tied up in the top of the tenth, until Mara delivered big-time for Winston-Salem, stroking a dramatic run-scoring single off Eric Stodola. The game-changing hit put the Dash on top, 7-6.
"This game tested our mettle," said Mara.
The Dash now have a record of 46-38.
