Stone Crabs Dump Carolina, 6-4, to Win 5th in a Row
|
The Charlotte Stone Crabs bested the Carolina Mudcats by a score of 6-4, with right fielder Craig Colgan getting the main credit. On the day, Colgan was 3-5 with a home run and 2 singles, while scoring 2 runs for the Stone Crabs. Charlotte reliever Nash Carrillo picked up the win, while Jordan Fenley took the loss for Carolina. Charlotte has won 5 consecutive games.
Charlotte needed the clutch hitting of Samuel Banda to notch the win. The second baseman hammered a 3-run home run in the top of the seventh inning to put the Stone Crabs on top, 5-2. For the game, Banda had 1 home run and 1 single in 5 at-bats.
"The more wins we pile up," said Colgan, "the more I like our chances."
