Red Sox 5, Dash 4
|
Salem beat Winston-Salem at BB&T Ballpark, eking out a 5-4 win. The triumph was primarily due to left fielder Christian Castillo. He went 1-4 with a home run and a walk. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. Salem starter Leonardo Maggi was credited with the win after throwing 92 pitches over 6.2 innings. His record now stands at 10-2. The win for the Red Sox lifted their record to 48-31.
With Salem trailing 2-1 in the top of the third, Castillo hit a fastball from Justin Barnes for a 3-run home run. It was his 20th home run of the season and put the Red Sox ahead, 4-2.
"If you want to be considered a good team, these are the kind of games you have to win," said Salem manager Hayden Bassler.
