The Carolina Mudcats and Jupiter Hammerheads completed their game despite the rain.
The Carolina Mudcats overcame a pretty good performance by Jupiter third baseman Sam Stephan, beating the Hammerheads, 6-3, at Roger Dean Stadium. Stephan went 2 for 4 with a home run. Conner Ferguson earned the win after being summoned from the bullpen. The right-hander allowed 1 run on 1 hit in 1.1 innings. He upped his record to 2-4.
Who knows how it might've ended, had it not been for Brantley Dawson? The Carolina second baseman had a 2-run double in the top of the sixth inning to put the Mudcats on top, 4-3. For the game, Dawson had 1 double and 1 single in 5 at-bats.
Carolina manager Robert Castro said his team played a "no nonsense" game.
Carolina is now 41-39.
