Bradenton Loses, 3-1, in 10
|
The Florida Fire Frogs relied on a great performance from Hugo Porcari, who leads the ECL with a 1.62 ERA, to beat the Bradenton Marauders, 3-1, in 10 innings at LECOM Park. Lonnie Andersen earned the save for Florida, his 20th of the year. Florida, at 47-28, holds down 4th place in the East Coast League Florida Division.
Dionis Valentin came through with a big-time hit for Florida. The catcher smacked a 2-run home run in the top of the tenth inning to give his team the lead, 3-1. It was his only hit, but it was clutch.
"Watch and learn," said Valentin. "This is what good pitching looks like."
