Blue Jays Win, 4-2, at Charlotte
|
The Dunedin Blue Jays topped the Charlotte Stone Crabs, 4-2, in East Coast League action at Charlotte Sports Park. The game was highlighted by the performance of Dunedin pitcher Alfonso Clay. Newt Miller closed the game out for Dunedin, earning his 1st save. Dunedin now sits in 4th place in the East Coast League Florida Division at 44-31.
Kristion Golson, the 21-year old catcher , had a direct impact on the outcome. Golson contributed a run-scoring single in the top of the third inning to put Dunedin up, 1-0.
"I don't feel you win baseball games by working harder than the other team or 'wanting it more,'" Golson told the Dunedin News. "You win just by scoring more runs."
