Johnny De La Cruz was masterful in helping the Winston-Salem Dash take down the Virginia Beach Mariners, 3-0. The Dash saw their record improve to 50-26.

De La Cruz overpowered the Mariners. The Winston-Salem right-hander allowed 1 hit over 8.1 innings, while recording 11 punchouts. With the win, he is 7-4 on the season.

"We have a lot of confidence in Johnny," said Winston-Salem manager Brandon Holmes.
