Florida Fire Frogs starter Zach Read pitched a strong game against the Winston-Salem Dash at BB&T Ballpark, leading the Fire Frogs to victory, 4-2. Steve Watt earned the save for Florida, his 1st of the year. Florida is in 6th place in the East Coast League Florida Division with a record of 34-42.

The Fire Frogs got a big at-bat from left fielder Vladimir Guzman. For the game, Guzman went 1-4 with a home run and a walk. In the top of the first, with the bases empty, he stroked a solo home run. His 2nd home run of the season gave Florida a 1-0 lead.

"I thought Zach threw the ball well across the board," said Florida manager Nicolás Colunga.
