The Salem Red Sox managed to get by the Virginia Beach Mariners, 4-3, at Virginia Beach Ballpark. Salem pitcher Luke Cody set himself apart with his performance. Jesse Lamb, now 2-0, was credited with the win in 2.2 innings of relief. He allowed no runs on 1 hit, while striking out 3 and walking 0. The Red Sox move to 25-43 with the win, while the Mariners drop to 36-32.

Jace Strom, who is tied for 5th in the ECL in stolen bases with 11, had a direct impact on the outcome. Strom contributed a run-scoring walk in the top of the eighth inning to put Salem up, 4-3.
