Owls Pick Up 3-1 Road Win Over Lynchburg
|
Oxford and Lynchburg played a hard-fought contest.
In a tight affair between the Oxford Owls and the Lynchburg Hillcats, pitcher J.T. Lake was in the zone. The Oxford right-hander helped his team win the game, 3-1. The winning pitcher was Lake, now 1-0. He tossed 6.1 innings of 5-hit ball, while walking 1 and fanning 9. Elijah Inyang got the save, the 2nd for him this season.
Ramiro Boyer, who is tied for 9th in the ECL with a 1.014 OPS, had a direct impact on the outcome. Boyer contributed a solo home run in the top of the fifth inning to put Oxford up, 2-0.
"We didn't string enough hits together to win the game," said tight-lipped Lynchburg manager Antonio Molina. "Obviously."
The losing streak for Lynchburg has now reached 4 games.
