The St. Lucie Mets managed to get by the Hudson Valley Renegades, 4-3, at Tradition Field. St. Lucie pitcher Mark Rahall set himself apart with his performance. Rahall got the win, improving to 5-1. He allowed 6 hits and walked 0 over 5 innings. Rahall allowed 3 runs. St. Lucie improves to 39-21 with the win. They lead their division by 2 games.
Ozell Berardino went 1 for 2 with a walk for St. Lucie. The 25-year old third baseman had a key at-bat in the bottom of the fourth. With one out and runners on 1st and 3rd, he broke a 3-3 tie with a run-scoring sacrifice fly off Eric Stodola. It was his 2nd RBI of the season.
After the game, St. Lucie manager Octavio Collazo applauded the team's effort. "They busted their humps out there," he said.
