Renegades Win, 8-5, in Extra Frames
|
Yaston Cappelletti did all he could to help his team win. In the end, though, it wasn't enough to spare the Winston-Salem Dash an extra-inning, 8-5 loss to the Hudson Valley Renegades at BB&T Ballpark. Cappelletti hit 2 home runs, while adding 5 RBI and scoring twice. The winner in relief was Walter Raley. The right-hander allowed no runs on 1 hit in 2 innings. He now owns a record of 5-1. Jeremiah Masias, summoned from the bullpen, notched his 8th save.
Hudson Valley used the timely hitting of Timo Achilles to seize the win. The first baseman stroked a 2-run single in the top of the tenth inning to put the Renegades on top, 7-5. It was his only hit in 5 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"Our team showed some spunk," said Achilles.
The 6th-place Renegades have won 5 consecutive games.
