Mudcats Lose at Home, 5-4
|
Though he had a terrific game, Graham Lindsay could not prevent his team, the Carolina Mudcats, from absorbing a loss. Salem won the game, 5-4. Lindsay went 3 for 5 with a home run and 2 singles, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. Robert McGuirk earned the save for Salem, his 3rd of the year. Despite the win, the Red Sox have a lousy 14-34 record.
Who knows how it would've ended, had it not been for Eddie Vance? The 24-year old left fielder Vance stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the seventh inning to put Salem up, 4-3. For the game, he was 2 for 5, including 1 double and 1 single.
"What we get, we earn," Vance told the Salem Daily.
