Lynchburg Gets Riveting Walk-Off Win
Charlotte got a big-time effort from pitcher Ryder Heston, but it wasn't enough to keep the Lynchburg Hillcats from winning the game, 3-2. Heston threw 8.0 innings of 5-hit ball for the losing team. Lynchburg's record now stands at 23-20, placing them 4th in the East Coast League Mideast Division.

The decisive blow was delivered by Curcio Garcia-Diaz in the bottom of the ninth when he hit a 2-run double off 23-year old right-handed pitcher Dan Leamer to win the game for Lynchburg. The home crowd went nuts.

In postgame remarks, Garcia-Diaz applauded his team's "toughness."
