Dash Drop Tarpons, 7-5
|
A 4-RBI performance from the 23-year old first baseman Noah Marchand helped the Winston-Salem Dash beat the Tampa Tarpons, 7-5. Brayden White, the winning pitcher, is now 6-0. He went 5 innings, allowing 3 runs on 6 hits, while fanning 2 and walking 0. Brett Suzuki got the save, the 1st for him this season.
Marchand had a game-changing home run in the top of the sixth. On a 2-2 curveball from Owen Howe, he banged a grand slam home run to left-center, giving the Dash a 7-3 lead. It was the 7th home run of the year for Marchand.
In postgame comments to the Winston-Salem Chronicle, Marchand said, "If the effort is there, the wins will come."
The triumph puts Winston-Salem at 33-10 for the season.
